Plant Portraits: Native Plants of Canada Exhibit

The Plant Portraits: Native Plants of Canada Exhibtion is open for viewing. This exhibit will be held from May 18 to October 31, 2018, in the Learning Centre on the grounds of the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (CAFM) located at 861 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, Ontario. Coloured Pencil Exhibit at the Nepean Visual Arts Centre

An exhibition of botanical art works done by Jan Salmon's coloured pencil art class will be on display at the Nepean Visual ArtsCentre Gallery (at the Nepean Sportsplex just outside the art classrooms) starting May 14 and continuing to June 15, 2018.  Please drop by and see some of the amazing work these students have been producing this year in this wonderfully versatile medium.

Plants Portraits: Native Plants of Canada Exhibition Announcement






The Canada Agriculture and Food Museum (CAFM) has announced the upcoming Plant Portraits: Native Plants of Canada Exhibtion on their website.  This exhibit will be held from May 18 to October 31, 2018, in the Learning Centre on the grounds of the Museum located at 861 Prince of Wales Drive, Ottawa, Ontario.

Plant Portraits: Native Plants is The Ottawa Society of Botanical Artists' (OSBA) art exhibit that will run from May 18 to October 31, 2018, at the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum. One of five regional art exhibits across Canada that will celebrate the diversity of Canada’s native plants, Plant Portraits is an opportunity for our membership to contribute to this year’s series of global botanical art exhibitions while showcasing the growing local interest and talent in contemporary botanical art. 





Key Dates·        
  •       March 12, 2018 – Submission and artwork review day
  • ·        May 1, 2018 –  Deadline for artwork to be framed
  • ·        May 17, 2018 – Vernissage at the Canada Agriculture and
          Food Museum Learning Centre
  • ·        May 18, 2018 – Exhibit opens to the public
